Green Champions
The Green Champions were created by the Corporate & Social Responsibility Executive in 2006 and are a group of representatives from around the business who volunteer to meet once a month to discuss ideas and the implementation of various Green Initiatives which look to reduce Mondial’s carbon footprint by reviewing our practices and recognising and challenging any ‘non environmentally friendly’ habits of our employees.
They help to support the Mondial Environmental Policy by:
- Striving to help adopt the highest available environmental standards in all areas of operations
- Working to support the Company to improve the way we use energy and minimise waste – reducing our Carbon Emissions/Footprint
- Helping to find sustainable products for use in the organisations’ operations
- Encouraging fellow employee’s involvement in environmental action and encouraging them to think and act ethically when using resources within the business
- Investigating future Green initiatives to complement our daily activities
Accepting Change
The Green Champions recognise that many people are simply used to doing something a certain way, for example throwing a piece of paper in the bin rather than put it in the recycling bins provided, and have therefore ensured that all floors and rest rooms in the Croydon Head Office have recycling bins for paper, cans and glass so that our employees are given the opportunity to do their bit for the environment whilst at work.
Challenging Colleagues
The Green Champions work hard to challenge their fellow employees to be more aware of their individual impact on the environment and to encourage them to take steps towards making the necessary changes to their daily habits in order for them to make a difference.
New Members
Anyone can be a Green Champion at Mondial and the team is always ready to welcome new members.
