Innovation
A limited company was registered in 1974 under the name of SACNAS to promote products sold under the trademark of “Mondial Assistance”.
As many European Insurance Companies saw French insurers including “assistance services” in their insurance policies, they soon started to be interested in offering similar services to their own subsidiaries. In 1982 many opportunities for foreign expansion were offered to Mondial and subsidiaries were promptly established around the world.
Created in 2000, Mondial Assistance Group is the result of the successful integration of Swiss-based Elvia Travel Insurance and France’s SACNAS-Mondial Assistance, two companies with 75 years of cumulative expertise in travel insurance and service solutions. Today, the Group structure is equally owned by AGF (Paris) and RAS (Milan) both members of Allianz, which is one of the largest insurance companies in the World.
The Mondial Assistance Group now has over 7,000 employees worldwide with 37 operation centres in 28 countries, and has developed strong values shared by all its employees which are the key to our success.
Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited was started under the form of a branch of the French parent company in July 1980 in order to help BMW customers needing assistance in the UK during the summer season.
The first business opportunity came from the motor industry, with BMW looking for a comprehensive roadside assistance service for their customers that the motoring clubs were unable to provide.
Over recent years the Business has continued to grow, employing in excess of 800 employees, with an annual turnover of over £110 million in 2006.
There are currently two main business divisions within the Company:
Automotive: providing a full cycle of customer assistance services to prestigious motor manufacturers.
Corporate & Travel: providing all encompassing assistance and travel services to insurance companies, financial institutions and other blue-chip organisations.
Mondial has seen exceptional year on year growth and now supports 22 motor manufacturers, and a multitude of travel trade and blue chip financial organisations. We are constantly striving to provide innovative, added value services designed to enhance our clients’ customer experiences at every stage and leading to increased customer loyalty and increased profit.

Mondial Assistance works to improve the economic, social and environmental climate within its community.
It aims to “give back” to the surrounding community and provides rewarding initiatives that give staff the opportunity to participate in making CSR central to our work culture.
With the purpose to be a model for other businesses and to improve recruitment, staff motivation and morale, Mondial’s CSR categories concern family, education and the environment.

We need to be able to understand customer requirements and exploit new market opportunities, or access new technologies to deliver successful new products and services. This in turn will lead to maximising the long term profitability and success of the organisation.
