Telephone Interviews

We carry out an initial interview by telephone in order to assess your phone manner and ability to communicate well over the phone.

Telephone interviews generally last between 20 and 30 minutes during which you will be asked questions on your previous employment history and we will explain the role of Roadside Technician, the rota system in operation and the basic salary and bonus system.

If you successfully answer our questions and, on the basis of the information you have been given, we decide to progress your application to the next stage, you will be invited to a full day’s assessment centre at our Training and Service Centre in Warrington.

Assessment Centres

All applicants who have successfully undertaken an initial telephone interview will be invited to a full day’s assessment centre at our Training and Service Centre in Warrington.  All reasonable travelling expenses will be reimbursed and, if appropriate, hotel accommodation will be arranged and paid for by Mondial.

It is likely that you will attend with other candidates who will be applying for the same position and location or a vacancy in another part of the UK. The assessment centre will consist of several assessments designed to demonstrate your technical knowledge and customer service skills and you will be asked to complete practical and theory assessments together with a role play exercise.

You will also be interviewed by a Brand Manager who will give you every opportunity to ask any questions you may have concerning the terms and conditions of employment in the role of a Roadside Technician.

The interview will consist of structured questions relating directly to the criteria required for the role.  You will be asked for specific examples of situations in which you have demonstrated an ability which is relevant to the role.

Your performance will be scored directly after the Assessment Centre and we will contact you promptly to let you know how you got on.

Starting your New Job

You will undertake a four week induction programme which is designed to make sure that you will be a confident, effective and successful Roadside Technician right from the start of your employment with Mondial.

The induction will take place, in the main, at our Training and Service Centre in Warrington.  You will also undertake training at our head office in Croydon and whilst there you will attend the Company Induction which is designed to welcome you to Mondial and tell you all about us and our culture and how your role is important to the business.

You will also have the opportunity of meeting work colleagues from other departments to give you a better understanding of each other's roles and responsibilities.

During the induction programme you will be allocated, and be responsible for, a fully equipped service vehicle.   We will ensure you have the knowledge to work safely at the roadside and give you the opportunity to take the relevant professional qualifications.

You will be trained on all aspects of being a successful Roadside Technician with weekly reviews to ensure that you are entirely confident with the skills and knowledge you have attained.  During your induction you will also accompany a “buddy” technician on the road so that you can be guided through real life assistances and introduced to local dealers and suppliers.

Your Supervisor will assess your readiness to “go live” at the end of the induction programme and your Brand Manager will also spend time with you during your first few months.
